Northeast Region

Price Chopper,  a full-service supermarket group serving the northeastern United States, is a subsidiary of Golub Corporation.  The full service 50,000> sq. ft. grocery facilities offer meat and seafood, deli, scratch bakery, coffee cafe, and a florist. 

 

CASCO has designed two sustainable ground-up projects in Lenox, MA & Marshalls Creek, PA designed to "LEED Silver".  In addition to engineering & design services; CASCO coordinates credit requirements, performs product research, uploads Credit Compliance Templates, and submits required materials to the USGBC.

Safeway Stores, Inc.

Northern California (NorCal)

Over a three year period CASCO teamed with Safeway to design and engineer their “Lifestyle” concept throughout 25 locations in northern California and Nevada.  Typical project scope included extensive remodeling and in some cases the addition of new square footage to the existing building.  Safeway projects in almost all cases involved service meat and seafood, service deli, scratch bakeries, pharmacies, bank lease spaces and Starbucks' kiosks.

 

Building Information Modeling (BIM) was utilized to capture fixture data within the Fixture Plan.  The information is shared by Safeway's store planning, construction and procurement departments.

Dominick's Finer Foods

Midwest Region

Safeway's Dominick's Finer Foods divsion utilized CASCO's services to assist with the Chicago market "Lifestyle" program.

 

In addition to store design efforts, CASCO supported Dominick's as a peer review consultant to identify value engineering opportunities at a number of stores with heating and cooling issues.  Dominick's also utilized  our services to review and analyze compliance of all Dominick's stores in regard to local, state and federal accessibility requirements.

Dollar Tree Market

CASCO assisted Dollar Tree, a long time client, with the prototype development of their new Grocery Market concept in 2009. 

 

At 23,000+ sq. ft., Dollar Tree Market is approximately twice the size of a typical Dollar Tree store. The first Market opened in March of 2010 near their headquarters in Chesapeake, VA.

 

Our engineers also incorporate freezers & coolers into an average of 100 Dollar Tree stores per year.

Save-A-Lot

Nationwide

CASCO’s involvement with Save-A-Lot, a subsidiary of SuperValu, began in 2002.  Since then we have designed and engineered over 150 grocery stores throughout the United States. 

 

A key step in the success of Save A Lot's roll-out program was the development of Regional  Criteria Sets incorporating Northeast, Midwest, South and Southwest design and construction influences. 

 

Kroger

Midwest

CASCO prepared Architectural, Structural, and MEP construction documents for 45 full-service supermarkets throughout the mid-west, including ground-ups, expansions, and renovations.

 

Kroger was the first grocer in the country to establish their own bakeries and sell meats and groceries under one roof.   They continued to challenge the design process by adding pharmacies, banks and florist within their store footprint.
