Toys “R” Us and CASCO have a long history together. We first began working with Toys “R” Us in 1979 and supported their expansion into new markets with the opening of their first Kids “R” Us store in 1983 and their first Babies “R” Us in 1996. Spanning the last 37 years, we have designed over 3,000 projects in 49 states, Puerto Rico, Germany and Australia.
CASCO offered a revolutionary new concept of “retail prototype development” to Toys in 1980. The 1st prototype involved MEP engineering and grew to a complete multi-discipline prototype in 1984, just in time for Toys “R” Us to launch their worldwide presence in Canada and Singapore.

We pride ourselves on being more than an Architectural/ Engineering firm; CASCO is a partner that Management, Store Planning and Construction and Facility staff can lean on. The Toys “R” Us Caesar's Bay Parkway store in Brooklyn, NY gave CASCO an opportunity to do just that. Half of the store is built on steel piers and hangs over the bay. The piers had deteriorated due to corrosion caused by the high content of dissolved oxygen in splashing sea water. Inspections could only be carried out when the tide was low, causing Pat Moore of CASCO to time his inspections to the rising tides. CASCO’s solution to this recurring problem was to coat the steel piers in carboline, a corrosion resisting coating. Applying the coating was another feat!
Our relationship with Toys “R” Us enabled us to grow our market in retail, prototype development and site adaptations. Project types include over 300 prototype development and maintenance projects, 100 distribution center related projects, and the remodel and expansion of Toys “R” Us’ Corporate Headquarters.
Our commitment to our clients is what allows us to grow with them. As needs arise, our company evolves. We know that they have a choice and work hard to make it an easy one; earning their allegiance every day, on every project.
